Hello ACE fans, Fallon here with another edition of Action Zone results. Enough ‘jibber jabber’ lets get right into the results:

*ActionZone Taping Week #1*

Moments before our opening contest ACE Owner Mike Morgan approached the ring and handed a note to ring announcer Ken Carrera, which stated that ALL Hollywood Inc matches this evening would be handicap matches in response to how they treated the locker room when they were in control of the company.

Black Zemis w/ Rade Ravello & Vic Hellion def. Sabotage

Rade Ravello led his faction “The Imports” into battle for the opening match up in Union City. Sabotage, who’s been quietly impressing ACE management in recent months, stepped up to the plate to slow down the momentum Zemis has been building recently. However, Zemis, (and his cat like reflexes) proved to be too much for Sabotage as “The Imports” secured yet another victory.

Following the match Ravello’s bodyguard Vic Hellion entered the ring seemingly to attack Sabotage, yet instead he simply rolled him out of the ring (with his foot) which led us to:

Vic Hellion w/ Rade Ravello def. Psycho

Straight out of the local asylum for the psychologically challenged, Psycho (formerly of the Elm Street Kids) showed his in ring experience as he was surprisingly able to go toe to toe with the big monster of the Imports. However, Psycho wasn’t able to counter the height and strength advantage Hellion had and in the end succumbed to a sidewalk slam sending the Imports back to the locker room 2-0 on ActionZone.

Myke Quest def. “The Sexiest Man Alive” Rhett Titus

Rhett Titus made is ActionZone debut against an ACE veteran in Myke Quest. While some of the Union City faithful questioned the actual self professed title of “sexiest man alive” by Titus, they could no question his ability in the ring as he was able to go hold for hold with the former co holder of the ACE Tag Team Championship. Quest though showed why he’s a vet here in ACE as he used his quickness to countermand many of the moves Titus attempted. Quest in the end was able to defeat “the sexiest man alive” with a bridging german suplex

Javi Air© def. Wes Draven & Azrieal
to retain the ACE Light Heavyweight Championship

In the first match that would pit Hollywood Inc members Javi Air found himself in the ‘sniper’ scope of the former light heavyweight champions Azrieal & Wes Draven. Since losing the title earlier this summer, Wes Draven has never received his mandatory return match due him as the former champion. Seems Alex Iz has done everything in his power to ensure Draven never got his return match. As for Azrieal it’s been over two years since he’s been the champion and would love to again add more gold to his illustrious career here in ACE.

In the early going of the match, it was clear both Draven & Azrieal had one agenda in mind – stomping the proverbial mud hole in Javi in the middle of the ring. However emotions began to over take both challengers as each would prevent the other from trying to secure the winning pinfall. In the late stages of the match up PS² (Pinkie Sanchez, Shawn Walker & Steve Scott) showed up at ringside and attacked Azrieal (who was out on the floor). While Azrieal was able to fight them off using a chair Azrieal saw an opportunity to strike Javi with the chair but the move backfired and he struck Draven with the chair allowing the champion to roll up the KO’d challenger and retain the title. *After the match, Azrieal infuriated with the interference of PS² attacked them again before returning to the locker room.

*ActionZone Taping Week #2*

PS² (Pinkie Sanchez & Shawn Walker) w/ “2 Hott” Steve Scott
def. “Monsters Inc” (Kronic & Hodge)

Action Zone opened up with tag team action as PS² took on the unusual team of Kronic & Hodge (who ActionZone fans will remember was Kid Liberty who was unmasked some weeks ago by Hollywood Inc and it was Kronic who placed an obscure mask on Liberty seemingly making him act like a savage). What made this match weirder was PS² was wearing different parts of Azrieal’s gear: Walker was wearing his bandana (with the horns); Steve Scott was wearing his ring jacket & worse of all: Pinkie was wearing his tights!!

While the obscure pair seemed to work well as a team, it was evident that Liber.. er I mean Hodge, was doing everything I his power to remove the mask of ‘Hodge.’ Late in the match up Walker & Sanchez were able to score the winning pin on Kronic while Kid.. er.. Hodge was out on the floor distracted by Steve Scott. *After the match: Azrieal hit the ring in street clothes & chair in hand and KO’ing all three members of PS² including hitting Pinkie with his finishing moves “South of Heaven” & his top rope double stomp. The self professed “good guy” then took a pair scissors and began to give Shawn Walker a new haircut. Halfway through the ‘trimming’ Azrieal spotted Kid .. er.. Hodge still at ringside trying to remove the mask. Azrieal called him over, grabbed at the massive head of hair on top of the mask and ripped the ‘hodge’ mask right off his head revealing Kid Liberty underneath. Liberty then headed to the locker room ‘relieved’ to be free. Upon completing his haircut of Walker, Azrieal turned his attention to Pinkie who he wound up dragging into the locker room with his tights around Pinkie’s ankles to reclaim his gear.

William Wyeth© def. Thomas Rodriguez
& “2 Hott” Steve Scott via DQ to retain the ACE WebTV Championship

Once again, William Wyeth has proved to be the ‘Houdini’ of the WebTV Championship as he escaped not one but two challengers (one of which has already pinned him in a non title match). It was evident early on that Scott would not be on his “A game” after the attack earlier in the evening by Azrieal. However, it was clear that Rodriguez had one goal in mind and that was again pinning Wyeth but this time the WebTV championship was on the line.

Late in the match, Wyeth once again seemed to introduce that infamous chain of his and KO’d Steve Scott with it while Rodriguez was down. As the referee was checking on Scott, Rodriguez grabbed the champ and rolled him up for a pin attempt and the referee “Big Jose” counted to three and awarded the match & championship to Thomas Rodriguez. However, his celebration would be short lived as Wyeth pointed to the official how the chain was ‘mysterious’ hanging from Rodriguez’s trunks, claiming Wyeth was the victim of the chain which led to the pinfall. The referee had no recourse except to reverse his decision and award the match to Wyeth via disqualification.

to capture the ACE World Tag Team Championship

In what has proven to be the most obscure & growing drama in our tag team division, the make shift teams of Rob Vegas & Rayza challenged the other make shift team of Mike Donovan & Sam Sational for the tag team championship. It was evident both teams were doing everything in their powers to force the partners from opposing teams to square off and in the end the confusion of our tag team championship only mounted as Rob Vegas was dropped to the canvas by Rayza & Sam, but the only problem was when Vegas landed he did so on top of Donovan, which because of this chaos, in a legal pinfall cover and Vegas & Rayza are the new champions! Folks.. trust me.. you HAD to be there!

“Hollywood” Joe Hardway© def. Manslaughter & Vince Steel
to retain the ACE Heavyweight Championship

In the final match of the evening, ACE newcomer “The ReMix of Pro Wrestling” Vince Steel found himself in the main event for the heavyweight championship along side former ACE Heavyweight Champion Manslaughter. There was JUST one problem: Rade Ravello (Manslaugher’s manager) never signed for this match up. It seems when Manslaughter heard there was an open contract for the title match he jumped at the opportunity to regain the title. Ravello, on the other hand, didn’t seemingly want to upset Hardway or his manager Alex Iz (who was allegedly in Hollywood negotiating some more movie deals for Hardway). Manslaughter simply brushed aside Ravello and then he and Steel began to goto work on the reigning champion. Hardway clearly had the deck stacked against him as both challengers combined weighed in at over 520lbs!

But in the late stages of the match up Steel & Manslaughter turned their attention on each other allowing the champ to catch a breather. Seeing that Hardway’s title reign was clearly in jeopardy, Ravello did the unthinkable – struck Hardway and caused Manslaughter to be disqualified allowing Hardway to retain the title. Enraged, Manslaughter scooped up his manager and dropped him on his head with a Michinoku Driver which stunned the fans in Union City – to the point they chanted ONE MORE TIME! Manslaughter never being one to disappoint a crowd then sent Ravello into the ropes and planted him in the middle of the ring with a black hole slam.

*After the match: while the referees were ‘scrapping’ Manslaughter’s former manager off the canvas what appeared at first to be a fan attacking Hardway turned out instead to be MO SEXTON! Mo, who just two weeks earlier had been hung from a ladder by Hollywood Inc, had checked himself out of a hospital and snuck into the building in street clothes. While the rest of Hollywood Inc came out to save their champion, the ACE locker room emptied to help protect Mo and even the odds. Hardway grabbed the microphone and claimed Mo would NEVER receive another opportunity at the heavyweight championship – unless he could complete: THE HOLLYWOOD INC GAUNTLET! Mo accepted the challenge, then bailed from the ring, chair in hand and chased off Hollywood Inc.

Major Update On The WWE Suspensions; Returns, More

- If the much talked about WWE suspensions began on the day they were announced, August 30th, then the 30 day suspensions should have ended this past Friday. Several WWE superstars should be returning this week, however, two of them will not be returning. Charlie Haas, John Morrison, Mr. Kennedy, Umaga, William Regal and Funaki should all return to action this week. Edge and Gregory Helms are both eligible to return, however they are still out with injuries.

King Booker still has a month left before he is eligible to return as he is serving a 60 day suspension because he failed a Wellness test earlier this year. The other superstar not returning this weekend is Chavo Guerrero, who is being kept off TV a little longer due to the "I Quit" match with Rey Mysterio on SmackDown. Expect Chavo to return sometime in early November.

As far as Chris Masters goes, his status is still up in the air. Masters was among the 11 suspended wrestlers, but its unknown if he is serving a 60 or 30 day suspension. Another superstar who we are not sure about is Gene Snitsky. Snitsky hasn't appeared on WWE programming since the last RAW before the Signature Pharmacy scandal broke, and he worked a Heat taping at the August 27th RAW. No word yet if he's out with some kind of injury, or his time off TV is related to the suspensions. Snitsky's name never came up in media reports regarding the Signature scandal, so it could be just that WWE creative didn't have anything for him right now or something else.

Plans for Viagra Angle, MVP/Edge/Vickie, Much More

- SmackDown writer Michael Hayes is the one who pushed for the heart attack to happen in the SmackDown wedding storyline. Hayes has been wanting to do an angle involving Viagra for sometime now. The heart attack at the wedding had actually been scripted since June.

The plan was for Vickie Guerrero to obtain Teddy's medical records and find out about his medical issues to plan the whole thing out. The big idea is to turn Vickie into a major heel. At one point, there was talk of turning Kristal heel as well but it appears she will stay on as a face. Part of the plan may see Vickie use Kristal in her whole scheme, only to fire Kristal from SmackDown. The original plan was for Kristal to be moved to RAW. Kristal is dating Bobby Lashley in real life, and when Lashley had pull at the time, he had asked Vince if Kristal could be brought to RAW with him. Vince agreed with Lashley, and Kristal should be heading to RAW in the next couple of months, when Lashley returns.

Back to the Guerrero storyline, the idea is to turn her into a major heel General Manager for a huge feud with Rey Mysterio, kind of like a Hispanic version of Austin vs. McMahon.

Another idea being tossed around to get Vickie more heel heat from the fans is to have her start a relationship with one of the male superstars on SmackDown. The idea is that the wrestler would get special treatment from Vickie, and the fans would see it as her betraying her late husband Eddie Guerrero. The other idea is that the wrestler would be using Vickie to get special treatment, and Vickie would be trying to get the wrestler "in the sack." As the storyline would go, the superstar would tease the idea of hooking up with Vickie, but it would never happen because he wouldn't be interested in getting to bed with Vickie, only furthering his career, making him the one who's using her. Names being tossed around to hook up with Vickie are MVP and Edge with MVP being the likely candidate.

Huge WWE Roster Change, Orton Sr, Lashley, Lots More

- WWE Hall of Famer Cowboy "Bob" Orton may be brought in for the Cena vs. Orton feud. If he does come in, he probably won't be doing anything physical because he has Hepatitis in his blood. Orton was let go back in 2006 because of this concern, as he bled in the Taker/Orton Hell in a Cell match at Armageddon and bled on both superstars. Orton didn't tell WWE officials about the Hepatitis problem before hand, so he was released.

- Bobby Lashley should be returning sometime in December, possibly with Kristal by his side on RAW. Lashley had shoulder surgery back in August.

- There's talk of doing an Undertaker vs. Umaga feud which would see Umaga traded over to SmackDown. Vince himself is interested in this feud as well. If Umaga were to come over to SD, look for Mark Henry to make his way to RAW to feud with John Cena, since RAW is so low on heels. Henry's last match on SmackDown was probably the loss to The Undertaker this past week. Umaga's feud with Triple H should be ending soon as well.

- WWE will be taping SmackDown and ECW on a Sunday in Florence, SC on 12/2 at the Civic Center.

- The current plan for Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes will see them form a tag team to have them feud with Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch for the tag team titles.

Chris Jericho has indeed picked WWE over TNA

WWE Family Feud Update, Holyfield/WWE, Lita, More

- Tom sent word that WWE.com has a tiny, inconsipcous link at the bottom of WWE.com which links to the SAVE_US.222 video. Also on WWE.com is a video promoting the Evander Holyfield vs. Sultan Ibragimov on 10/13 in Russia. I think that was part of the deal with Holyfield doing WWE Saturday Night's Main Event a while back, that he get some promotion for his upcoming title fight. On a related note, Holyfield was among the athletes who were linked to Signature Pharmacy in September.

- Amy "Lita" Dumas and her boyfriend/bandmate Shane Morton are profiled in a new article on stompandstammer.com. Dumas talks about getting into the wrestling business and the controversial storyline with Matt Hardy and Edge. The former WWE Women's Champion says she made enough money with WWE that she doesn't have to work another day if she doesn't want to. She is currently focusing on her band, The Luchagors and running her own animal rescue group, ADORE (Amy Dumas Operation Rescue & Education).

- WWE's Family Feud specials featuring Superstars vs. Divas will air on November 5th through the 9th. Videos have surfaced online of Batista, King Booker, Jonathan Coachman, Kennedy and Ric Flair taking on Queen Sharmell, Michelle McCool, Brooke, Layla El and Maria. In one clip, Maria basically gives away an answer with one of those "Maria moments."

48 Hours Covering Benoit Story, Eugene/Cryme Tyme

"48 Hours" that airs on CBS is working on a one-hour show that features the Benoit murders and the problems with young deaths in wrestling. Interviews are currently being arranged and will continue over the next several weeks.

Nick Dinsmore (a/k/a Eugene) is currently looking at working as both Nick Dinsmore and as U-Gene. Personally he would rather work as Dinsmore, but feels there is more money, particularly for autograph shows and personal appearances in the old Eugene character. Right now his going rate is $1,200 per match on the indie scene and $700 per autograph session.

Recently released Cryme Tyme is charging $1,000 per match on the indie scene and $700 per autograph session.

AP: Mixture Of Prescription Drugs Killed Brian Adams

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -Former pro wrestler Brian "Crush'' Adams died last month after accidentally ingesting a lethal mixture of prescribed medications, the medical examiner's office said Friday.

The 44-year-old Tampa resident died Aug. 13 from mixing a strong painkiller with muscle relaxants and two different types of sedatives, said Dr. Leszek Chrostowski from the Hillsborough County medical examiner's office.

Chrostowski said he found "therapeutic levels'' of each of the drugs in his system, but the mixture slowed his respiratory system enough to kill him.

There were no anabolic steroids in Adams' body, a report from the office said.

The drugs that killed Adams included buprenorphine, an opiate-based painkiller that Chrostowski said is often used like methadone in the treatment of painkiller addiction; carisoprodol, a muscle relaxant; and sedatives chlordiazepoxide and alprazolam.

Adams wasn't breathing when his wife found him unconscious in their home.

A former world tag team champion, Adams last performed for the World Wrestling Federation in 2001 and served intermittently on the roster beginning in 1990, World Wrestling Entertainment said. He wrestled his last match in January 2003 when a spinal injury forced him into retirement.

Adams' death came less than two months after pro wrestler Chris Benoit killed his wife and son before hanging himself on the cable of a weight machine in his Georgia home. Prescription anabolic steroids were found in the Benoit family's home, raising questions about whether the drugs played a role in the killings.

Jericho Chooses WWE, Undertaker/Sara Update,

- Chris Jericho has indeed picked WWE over TNA for his highly anticipated return to the ring and is set to return at WWE's No Mercy on 10/7. After being in talks with both TNA and WWE, Jericho has decided on WWE.

- The Undertaker's "Sara" tattoo has been photoshopped off of the cover of the new WWE Magazine. I will have more on this later on this weekend.

WWE Creative Scouting OVW, RVD/Sabu Update

- In addition to SmackDown writer Christopher DeJoseph, WWE creative team members Michael Hayes, Dave Lagana, and Dave Kapoor were also backstage at the Ohio Valley Wrestling tapings this past Wednesday. Apparently they were all there looking at superstars that were candidates to bring up to the main roster.

- Thursday night’s episode of “Survivor: China” featuring WWE Diva Ashley Massaro on CBS did a 8.4 fast national overnight rating with a 14 share. The rating was good enough to put CBS in the number one slot for the 8 to 9 PM time slot.

- Former ECW superstars Sabu and Rob Van Dam will be signing autographs at the Sci Fi Expo in Melbourne, Australia on October 13th and 14th.

Chris Jericho To Show Up At RAW?, Cena's New DVD

Chris Jericho has announced that he will be in New York City on October 20th for the shooting of VH-1's "I love the 60s." As luck would have it, RAW is in Philadelphia that night, which is a short ride from the city. So if Jericho has indeed signed a deal with WWE, he could easily show up on RAW that night.

John Cena's "My Life" DVD is set to be released on November 6th. The promotional material reads: "Since bursting onto the WWE scene in 2002, John Cena has always known how to make an entrance. - Leticia Cline's new Playboy shoot has officially been released. The Playboy Special Editions Girls Next Door features Leticia on the cover and contains approximately 12 different photos inside. To promote the release, Leticia appeared on TNA Today with Jeremy Borash. Also, if you watched iMPACT last night you saw a little bit of promotion for Leticia's cover. TNA is even mentioned in the magazine.

- Reports out of Mexico say Sean "X-Pac" Waltman is suffering from the same sciatic nerve injury that Judas Mesias is currently out with. Another Mexican wrestler, Gran Apache is also out with the same injury and reports say he can't even walk right now. In a related note, Waltman and Mesias were advertised to team together in a Bull Terrier match against Juventud Guerrera and Zorro last night. No word yet on what happened with the match, but it obviously didn't go down as planned. Apparently a Bull Terrier match is some sort of chain match.

The Hart Foundation Heading To SmackDown

It now appears that The New Hart Foundation will be brought up to the main WWE roster under the SmackDown brand. They are currently being advertised locally for the Bakersfield, California Smackdown/ECW taping on Novermber 6th.

Teddy Hart (Bret Hart's nephew), Harry Smith (son of Davey Boy Smith), Nattie Neidhart (daughter of Jim Neidhart), Ted DiBiase Jr. (self explanatory) and TJ Wilson (close Hart family friend for years) are all currently working down in WWE’s developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling. It is still unknown if all the members will make the active roster.

WWE has planned on brining a new Hart Foundation generation to the roster for well over a year. Others being advertised for the 11/6 TV taping are The Undertaker, Batista, Rey Mysterio, The Great Khali, Matt Hardy and CM Punk.

Vince/HHH Plans, Kennedy, Orton Suicide, Lots More

- John Morrison is set to make his return next week and it'll be interesting to see whether he immediately gets the ECW Title back or not. The original plan in ECW was to build long-term around Morrison, but Punk was given the belt because when Morrison got suspended, there really wasn't anyone else better to put the title on.

- With Andrew "Test" Martin being released from TNA recently, more details have came out on his release from WWE a few months back. Test was in the middle of a push in ECW feuding with Lashley for the ECW Title, when he was rehearsing a promo backstage at a show that he was going to do live later that night. Test cut the promo in rehearsal and blew everyone's mind. Sources say that it was amazing, probably one of the best promos in his life. Vince McMahon was thrilled and told Test to go out infront of the crowd and cut the same exact promo. The way it goes, Test went out and we're told "he could not have done a bigger 180" with one of the worse promos in his life. After this incident, they decided he wasn't going to be much good to them so they booked him to lose at the Royal Rumble and ECW TV that week, then he was released.

- A possible outcome in the Vince McMahon vs. Triple H match on RAW next week could see Mr. Kennedy returning to attack Triple H, advancing the illegitimate child storyline from where they left off when Kennedy was suspended.

- To update you on the Randy Orton suicide story from last week, it's pretty much confirmed that Orton had some sort of medical emergency in the spring of 2006. Apparently, several sources, including the writer Irv Muchnick confirmed the hospital at the time of the incident. It appears WWE did an internal investigation at the time headed by John Lauranitis and concluded that Orton had not attempted suicide. It's possible that Orton may have OD'd, which would explain the hospital stay for Orton and the fact that a number of people insist he didn't try to kill himself.

Sanchez Contemplating Move To Lightweight Division?

The following is a quote from Diego Sanchez from the UFC 76 post-fight press conference last night in Anaheim, California:

"I feel that he beat me fair and square. I was close, but close isn’t close enough. All fighters go through losses, I’m just going to have to come back stronger. I’m contemplating in my mind if I’m going to drop to (1)55 or not, because I’m a smaller welterweight. I could do more powerlifting and put some more weight on or I could lose some weight."

Wanderlei Silva Calls Out Forrest Griffin For UFC Fight

What Wanderlei has to say about the event (UFC 76): "UFC took place in a very good gymnasium, very large; here these events have been growing continuously. This week I worked a lot on the event advertising making use of my popularity that is big here. Just to give an idea, we had an autograph session that gathered about 500 people, on a huge line. The warmth of my fans was very nice. I realize that everyone is anxious about my first fight, including myself. I’ve been training very hard, every day, with a lot of focus. My responsibility towards Brazilians has grown a lot due to the results of the last fights. This is also very motivating to me. It is important for the sport to bring joy to the fans and this becomes the fighters’ responsibility.

Lidell’s fight had a direct relationship with me because Dana White had said I would challenge him if he won. I was disappointed with the defeat because Lidell’s opponent is good, he has his merit but was not so qualified to defeat him. I believed Lidell was going to win and I was disappointed with the result. I hoped to perform against him in December and now I will have to wait for another name. It was a balanced, hard fight; I think Lidell should have prepared better in view of the importance of this combat.

As to Shogun, I didn’t manage to see him; I only watched the fight. I was very sad, both as a Brazilian and as a personal friend; I was cheering a lot for him. I was very frustrated with the defeat, it was unexpected. I thought it would be an easy fight for him. I hope he comes back, training hard and next time show his potential. MMA has greatly evolved and we should be tuned to such innovations, realizing that this sport is more and more specific and scientific. It does not take only a heart to win a fight any longer. Shogun has the talent and it all depends exclusively upon him. He will figure out what went wrong and will not make the same mistakes next time. Yesterday he was not the Shogun who I know. I hope he continues bringing joy to this fans including myself, for I am also his fan."

As to a name to face in December: "I’d like, in view of the last event and also as a vengeance for my friend, to fight with this Forrest Griffin. I guess it could be a good name for me."

More On Marcus Cor Von's Release; Heading To TNA?

As reported earlier, Marcus Cor Von was let go on September 19th to deal with personal issues stemming from the death of one of his family members. WWE continued to pay the downside guarantee on his contract despite the fact that he had not been seen in several months.

Reports have surfaced that TNA may be interested in bringing him back. A TNA return could be a better option for Cor Von as the company features a significantly lighter work schedule which would be a five day a month minimum.

SmackDown Wedding A Disaster?, See No Evil Update

There was a long delay live at last week’s SmackDown tapings because the young boy who played the ring bearer didn’t come out on time. Kristal also tripped and fell on her face walking up the stairs in her heels and the entire arena started laughing. "We Want Wrestling" chants could be heard clearly all throughout the building.

The "See No Evil" DVD starring WWE SmackDown superstar Kane has had some success in Spain doing $768,436 so far. Previously, the only other foreign country that the movie did any business with was Italy.

-- The 9/20 edition of TNA iMPACT averaged a 1.08 cable rating, with a 0.81 in M 18-49, a 0.76 in M 18-34, a 1.52 in M 12-17 with an average audience of 1.5 million viewers. Quarter hour numbers were 1.13, 1.01, 1.02, and 1.05.

-- TNA sent out a Mobile Alert announcing a special two-night tour of Mexico in December. The shows will be on 12/14 and 12/15 in Monterrey. Sting is being advertised and is rare because he usually doesn't work many TNA live events.

Huge Steroids Scandal Uncovered This Weekend

Yahoo Sports is reporting that an undercover investigation called Operation Raw Deal by the DEA seized "massive amounts of anabolic steroids from an illegal, underground network and the ability to identify hundreds of thousands of people who received steroids and other substances used by some athletes as performance-enhancing drugs”.

According to Yahoo, 124 arrests and seizures were made at 56 labs across the country. This is the largest steroid bust in the history of the United States. The DEA is currently compiling a list of known steroid recipients from the network; however, have yet to publicly name any athletes that are known to have received shipments.

Canada, Belgium, Australia, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Mexico and Thailand are the other countries involved in the coordinated international crackdown.

Samoa Joe Turns Down Contract Extension, TNA Women

Samoa Joe hasn't signed a contract extension as he still has a little over a year left with his current deal. Lately Joe has consistently turned down signing an extension because he wants to leave his options open for the next year. This doesn't necessarily mean he is leaving any time soon.

TNA is looking at bringing in new women wrestlers once the women's division gets kicked off on the two hour iMPACT. No one specific has been mentioned but there has been previous interest in bringing in ODB and CMLL's Sarah Stock (the Dark Angel).

Another Dr. Linked To Dispensing Steroids To WWE

Dr. John Todd Miller, of Tampa, Florida was sentenced to 18 months in federal prison yesterday for conspiring to dispense steroids to a teenaged in-line skater, according to The Tampa Tribune.

According to the newspaper, authorities became aware of Miller's illegal activities after teenage champion in-line skater Corey Gahan's father, James has a "business dispute" with him. James also pleaded guilty for his part in dispensing steroids to his son.

The article lists former WWE professional wrestlers as patients of Dr. Miller. Billy Kidman, the late Eddie Guerrero, Hector Guerreo, Danny Spivey, and Paul "Big Show" Wight were all listed. Kidman told investigators that he was referred to the clinic by the late Brian "Crush" Adams.

WWE's spokesperson Jennifer McIntosh refused to comment on the specific wrestlers since none of them are currently under WWE contract. Before being sentenced, Miller told the judge, "It was never my intention to hurt anyone." Miller was head of the Tampa, Florida-based Physician's Wellness Institute.

- It is interesting to note with the recent release of Marcus Cor Von and the alleged suspension of John Morrison ECW is left with only twelve active superstars.

- There is an article on TBO.com talking about John Todd Miller illegally dispensing growth enhancing drugs through his Physician’s Wellness Institute. Pete Gruner (a/k/a Billy Kidman) is quoted in the article saying that he found out about the institute from the late Brian Adams and that Eddie Guerrero and Paul “Big Show” Wight were also clients.

Women For Gauntlet Match, TNA At WWE Tapings, More

- The women scheduled for the Gauntlet match to crown the first ever TNA Women’s Champion at their Bound for Glory pay-per-view next month are former ECW Diva Shelly “Ariel” Martinez, Japan and SHIMMER star The Amazing Kong, former WWE developmental worker Angel Williams, OVW’s ODB, and Talia Madison.

- TNA had a street team outside of this week’s WWE SmackDown/ECW tapings promoting the upcoming Bound for Glory pay-per-view in the city. Next month’s pay-per-view is being called one of TNA’s biggest tests ever.

- According to a media source out of Mexico, Judas Mesias (who recently debuted in TNA and worked a match taped for tonight’s Impact) is suffering from sciatica and will be out several weeks to rest and will also need physical therapy. It is unknown how this will affect TNA’s plans for him; however, if the report is accurate they could have to hold him out of the ring at Bound for Glory. Mesias is the current AAA Champion in Mexico.

- Celebrity gossip site TMZ.com caught up with The Rock the other night in New York outside of the Trump Hotel where The Rock was signing autographs for fans. When asked about his latest movie, The Rock replied "I did a porn..." and laughed about it until he turned around to find a kid and his dad waiting for a picture. The Rock apologized for the bad joke and took the picture with the father and son. The Rock's new flick, The Game Plan is getting rave reviews from critics so far.

- The NY Daily News has an article today with Ashley Massaro talking about what she did to prepare for Survivor: China. "Really, all I could do was brush up on being outside, that was the main thing, going outside for a really long time," she said. The article notes that Ashley pitched the idea to WWE about being on Survivor, when previous reports have said WWE and CBS came up with the idea. Ashley had 10 days from finding out she was going to be on the show before she left for China. Ashley says at first she didn't want anyone to know who she was. "I intended on them not knowing right away," she said. "I thought it might be better if I was just your average person." They mention that she won't return to WWE until after the Survivor: China finale airs. Catch the premiere this Thursday night at 8pm.

Kennedy Defends WWE; Put His Foot In His Mouth Again

Ken Kennedy really put his foot in his mouth after an interview he did with Fighting Spirit magazine in the United Kingdom. In the interview Kennedy said the following:

So, like, everybody used to live that lifestyle and that’s what the business was. But you can’t get away with it nowadays, because we do have a drug testing policy, as much as everybody wants to say that it’s not legitimate. Well, it is legitimate, because they stand there and they watch you pee. It’s like, how much more do you want? And there are certain circumstances where guys have an elevated testosterone level, above 4:1. But if you do, you’d better have a damn good reason why, and a doctor’s excuse, and a legitimate doctor’s excuse, or you’re gonna be suspended and fined and potentially fired. And that’s just the way it goes – zero tolerance. And I hate it, it really irritates me when I see these people get on TV shows and say, “Well, their Wellness Policy is a joke” and “They’re allowed to have ten times the legal amount of steroids in their bodies”. The fact is that we’re not allowed to have any steroids in our bodies. Period.

The interview was obviously done before he was suspended 30 days for violating the Wellness Policy. Kennedy was spotted backstage this past Monday at RAW in his hometown. He told people he would see them in Cleveland, Ohio on October 1st for RAW.

Andrew "Test" Martin was let go from TNA. It has been reported that he was too muscular, and the way the industry is right now with steroids, this is not seen as a big plus. Before Martin's debut with TNA, he was second guessed since he was a WWE reject who didn't have anything special to offer.

When he came in and wasn't impressive, it was basically the same reaction as Damaja & Doug Bashman, thus the end result was the same.

Impact 2 Hours, TNA In Israel, Nash/Sting/Angle

- TNA President Dixie Carter, who rarely appears on camera, will be interviewed today by Jeremy Borash on today’s edition of TNA Today on the official TNA web site. Carter will be discussing Impact going two hours on October 4th.

- TNA has announced the talent for their live events in Tel Aviv, Israel this November. The following names are confirmed: TNA Champion Kurt Angle, TNA X-Division Champion Jay Lethal, Abyss, AJ Styles, Christian Cage, Samoa Joe, and Team 3D. The shows will take place on November 15th and November 17th. Howard Brody acted as the agent for the Israeli promoters, getting with TNA and setting up the tour.

- There is a good chance that Abyss vs. Judas Mesias will be the Monster’s Ball match at TNA’s Bound for Glory PPV, with the possibility of Rhino being added as the third person. There has also been some talk that Kevin Nash could play some type of role in the Kurt Angle vs. Sting bout.

- Following Bound for Glory, the following pay-per-view dates for TNA in 2007 are:
11/11: Genesis in Orlando, Florida
12/2: Turning Point in Orlando, Florida

- Former WCW and ECW star Psicosis will be performing at Booker T's next PWA show on 9/22 in Houston, Texas. Booker cuts a Harlem Heat style promo on his website hyping the show and says he will be at the event signing autographs.

- Candice Michelle's new theme song is a remix of her "What is Love?" theme remixed by popular house DJ's Scooter and Lavelle.

- The official website for Affliction Clothing features SmackDown's The Undertaker and Michelle McCool modeling t-shirts for the Affliction Clothing line. They also have Stone Cold Steve Austin, Chavo Guerrero, Hulk Hogan, Samoa Joe and several UFC stars like Randy Couture and Quentin Jackson modeling shirts, among other celebrities. Original TNA Names For Rikishi, Dixie At PPV, More
TNA president Dixie Carter was backstage at TNA's No Surrender PPV, as usual, taking everything in.

- Rikishi was called by TNA the day of the iMPACT tapings and asked to come in. The original plan was to call him Keesh or Kishi, but TNA went with Junior Fatu to prevent any legal problems, with WWE owning the trademark to Rikishi.

- TNA officials and wrestlers were said to be freaked out by Andrew "Test" Martin's size when he came into TNA. When Martin first came in, he was around 250lbs. and at the next set of iMPACT tapings, he was up to 275lbs. People within TNA said his attitude was his worst enemy.

- TNA President Dixie Carter appears on the weekend edition of TNA Today.

Dixie said TNA's success can be attributed to the fans and their in-ring product, which she says you can't see anything better anywhere else. With 2 more hours, Dixie says they will be able to show more depth with the characters and show more in ring action. She says the company wants to do more touring, nationally and internationally in 2008. The first TNA video game will be released in 2008 by Midway. Borash said the Midway crews were at the iMPACT tapings getting sounds and stuff for the game.

Ortiz Vs. Evans 2 Likely For UFC 78

Light heavyweights Tito Ortiz (15-5-1) and Rashad Evans (10-0-1) will rematch at UFC 78 at the Prudential Arena in Newark, N.J., on November 17.

Last week, “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” informed UFCmania.com that the date was “likely” and it was confirmed today in a recent article in the Pahrump Valley Times.

Ortiz and Evans first met at UFC 73: “Stacked” on July 7, fighting to a disappointing three-round draw. The “Man in Charge of the Action” that night, referee “Big” John McCarthy, deducted a point from Ortiz in the second round for grabbing the fence,a development that ultimately led to the 28-28 decision on all three judges scorecards.

After the fight, Ortiz disclosed that he had sustained a back injury during training, hampering his performance in the later rounds. He has since gone on a USO Tour in the Middle East to visit with service men and women in the military stationed overseas.

In recent interviews, Ortiz has commented that he wanted to have the rematch in Las Vegas, Nevada. However, it seems that he has settled on the new Newark arena, which is about a 20-minute drive from the Lincoln and Holland tunnels, as well as easy accessible via mass transit.

Put simply, it’s about as close to New York City as you can get without actually being in New York City.

Nash Pushing TNA To Sign Former nWo Members, More

Wrestling Conventions

I have been keeping up with the feedback from this weekend's
conventions and talking to some of the talent that attended. I am
sure I will be speaking to more as the weekend goes on. I want to say
that I empathize with the promoters and I sympathize with the fans. A
convention, especially like the one Turnbuckle Promotions put on, is
like wrestling a grizzly bear. I promoted WrestleReunion 1 and 2 both
of them huge conventions. It was a major learning experience.
Mistakes were made along the way and, quite honestly, without the
help of Rob Russen, Jimmy Hart and Tom Prichard the whole event could
have imploded. It was a six month day to day effort in getting ready
for the event. The majority of that work was done by Rob Russen. I
handled the big picture stuff, but all the day to day duties were
handled by Rob Russen. Of course Rob and I were both running around
the days of the convention itself. The efforts of Tom Prichard and
Jimmy Hart were recognized the days of the event itself. I want to
say clearly one of these monster events takes more effort than it can
ever be worth financially. I greatly under estimated what happens
when you sell VIP packages that GUARANTEE people everyone's
autograph. It should be every promoter's goal to give the fans
everything that was promised them. It should be the fans
responsibility not to cry because they aren't getting more than was
promised. I assure you this happens all the time. In the selling of
the so called "VIP" packages people are treated as anything but
VIP's. They wait on ridiculously long lines and are herded in like
cattle to meet a star for what seems to be mere seconds. If you are
going to get into the convention business, understand that the larger
your convention is, the more help that you need in running the event.
You will need qualified help not just aunts, uncles, friends,
brothers and sisters. You need people who understand the business,
that know how to talk to the stars and can handle HIGH pressure
situations. It's not to say that you can not and shouldn't use people
close to you to help with your event. It is ok you use them but use
them properly, especially in the box office. If you do use them use
them for things that do not require knowledge of our business and if
you're in it for the long haul perhaps they will gain experience and
knowledge. They will be even more of a help at future events.
If you are a wrestling fan like I was, these events are a dream come
true. In reality, unfortunately many people come away feeling under
whelmed. I will say that if you attend an event that sells hundreds
and hundreds of VIP tickets to fans then please come with the
expectation of being stuck in a line for several hours and have a few
seconds with a star and hope the star isn't worn out by the time you
get there. If you have ever attended the opening of a restaurant or
any other business you should also understand no matter how much the
promoter wants to please you he is bound to let you down on some of
your expectations. If you assume that the wrestlers are employees,
and you should, understand they are first day employees with NO
TRAINING. I understand that by now most of the wrestlers have been to
conventions but they all have differences on how they are run and
different physical plans. If a waitress jumps from restaurant to
restaurant they still need training to understand how this new place
functions. If you are thinking clearly and without emotion you can
see where the problems will occur.
I have come to learn through experience, painful and exhausting
experience, that to sell a lot of VIP memberships and hope you get
through the agony is a bad business model. Also, there is a point of
diminishing returns when adding on star after star no longer equates
to additional sales or revenue. It just doesn't make financial sense.
When you are booking stars for these events you have to keep the "I
am booking certain guys because I am a mark for them" theory to a
minimum. Allow yourself three, if you must and then book from a point
of business only. It is critical that you have "A" list stars. They
are the ones people come to see in our business assuming that you can
not get any current WWE stars to attend. I will tell you that at this
time some of the stars who actually attract the fans, in my opinion,
are Bruno Sammartino, Bret Hart, Diamond Dallas Page, Jimmy Hart,
Roddy Piper, Ted DiBiase, Ricky Steamboat, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall.
Not only do these guys bring out fans but you can get main stream
publicity for them. The media is willing to talk to these guys and
that is FREE PUBLICITY for you. It is a huge plus. I am sure there
are some other names out there which are obvious but priced so high
that it doesn't make financial sense to book them. If you're
attracting hardcore fans there is hardly anyone better than Jim
Cornette for these events. You will find that for Q&A's Jim Cornette,
Dusty Rhodes and Terry Funk are top notch and the fans never get
tired of listening to them talk.
The people who run these events want to make wrestling fans dreams
come true. They are sincere in that desire. The fans want to meet
their heroes and have a great time doing it. You would think that
when people all share a common goal it would be easier, but that is
not the case. The people running these events, for the most part, are
not business people. They are people in business trying to learn on
the job. The fans paying their money expect perfection and they
should, but I haven't seen that happen yet. Perfection is an
unrealistic, un-doable expectation.
If you are a promoter looking to make a fortune from one of these
events, I can tell you that the chances are small. There has been
some money made at the very beginning when these events were
basically new to everyone. It has since become a way for wrestlers to
make a lot of money and promoters to lose a lot of money or spend a
lot of time and energy to hopefully break even. If you are just doing
it because you love it and can afford the potential loss by all means
feel free to live your dream. Just don't disappoint the fans. It is
common knowledge that many of the wrestlers behave poorly in a
situation where they don't have a guarantee and can only make money
by selling merchandise. It is common knowledge who these individuals
are. If this kind of information is not known by you then you are
someone who shouldn't run a show at all. If you are including a
wrestling event with your convention don't book the typical Indy show
type of event. The fans expect to see known legendary feuds and
things they can't see every other weekend. You have to make the whole
convention special from beginning to end and close strong with great
matches based on established feuds.
I suggest smaller events like the one that was in NJ this weekend
that had just one real "A" list headliner. In this case was Bret
Hart. What I don't understand about it was he had Bret and Jim
Neidhart booked. How could he let the NY promoter book Jimmy Hart? I
would have gone for the Hart Foundation reunion for sure. I did
receive a call from someone who told me Bret Hart was signing with
his IPOD in his ears. I am sorry but that is totally unacceptable.
(Since the initial posting of this article the Bret Hart issue
appears to be false, it is understood how the mistake was made but I
have been told Bret was a total professional the entire time)These
fans are paying money in times where the economy is unstable and gas
is out of control. They must get the time and attention they paid
for. With that being said, he ran a small manageable event. It
appears that most of the stars were friendly with the fans. He only
had one no show and a reasonable budget. This event had a chance to
make money and I hope it did. I can tell you from my experience that
the event in Long Island was an event doomed to failure from the
beginning. It also has the stigma of a cancellation by Jesse Ventura.
I am not sure if Ventura was ever booked. We wanted him for
WrestleReunion but he wanted SIXTY THOUSAND dollars for a ninety
minute speech. Did they really have this guy booked at all? If they
did and he canceled, I am sure they saved a lot of money by him not
coming. Either way, wrestling fans have the right to believe that the
advertised talent will be there with no exceptions. Talent that is
not contracted and verified cannot be advertised and promoted. Where
is the contract Ventura signed to appear? I would be scanning it and
making it available on the internet for credibility sake. I say that
no one should be advertised without a contract, which is the first
rule of conventions. Also, do not book non- wrestling talent at
wrestling events. All in all wrestling fans want wrestling people not
other kinds of celebrities. The same can be said of celebrity
autograph shows. The fans don't want wrestlers at most of them. They
are looking for movie and TV people not wrestlers. I am very involved
in these types of shows and wrestlers as a rule do not do well at
these kinds of events.
Now the good news ... a lot of people turned out at both events from
what I am told. That is great news. It shows that even with the
recent tragedies that occurred, the fans still have an interest. The
wrestlers, for the most part, conducted themselves well. I do hear
that there were some bad apples in the bunch. That becomes a bad
situation for everyone and these people should not be invited back.
No matter what your problems are with the promoter that has to be
handled in the back. You should never ruin these events for the fans.
I can't be sure what financial situation these conventions ended up
in since I didn't write the checks, but I am betting that one lost
huge and the other made some money. Did they make enough for it to be
worth the effort? That question can only be answered in the heart of
the person running the show. The next big convention is being run in
San Francisco in October at the Cow Palace. I offered some advice to
these guys that they ignored. They assured me they knew what they
were doing. I will now offer advice to the wrestlers scheduled to
appear ... if you don't have fifty percent of your money before you
leave for the event and then get the other half when you arrive do
not get upset if your money isn't available when you leave. This
event has some huge names booked and is making a lot of promises
along with some outrageous claims of tickets sold in advance etc. I
wish all of you involved with that event, on both ends, a lot of
luck. I can also tell you I am available as a consultant for anyone
wanting to run these shows. I can promise you that I will save you
money and keep you focused and you will get all the benefits of my
experience and war wounds. I don't expect to hear from any of you
though. I realize everyone thinks they can do this on their own and
will no matter what I or anyone else says. There are more details to
take care of for any one person to handle and if they aren't taken
care of expect to be TRASHED on the internet, its going to happen.
In closing, if you are running an event, have all the money prepared
and ready on the front end. If the rumors are true and some people
did not get paid this weekend. There is no explanation other than
incompetence for this. The talent are not your partners they are your
employees pay them when your supposed to.

SD! Returns To San Juan, Sharmell Speaks On Booker

WWE will return to the Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico on November 11th. This will be part of a three-show SmackDown tour of the country which also has shows November 9th in Ponce and November 10th in Arecibo. San Juan has been known to be one of the most successful cities for WWE events in the Western world.

King Booker's wife Sharmell recently told the Baltimore Sun that she absolutely loves her character. She also joked saying that at home Booker morphs into King Booker "almost every other second," using the King voice.

TNA's "Major Announcements

As we have been reporting all week, TNA has been teasing via their mobile service that they will be making a major announcement at tomorrow's No Surrender pay-per-view and that they have been negotiating a deal with a "former World champion."

It wouldn't be surprising if the announcement is that iMPACT will be moving to two hours on Thursday nights starting this October. According to several sources the deal is complete and the announcement is forthcoming, so tomorrow's pay-per-view would be perfect timing.

As for the "former World champion" announcement, rumors have been going around that the company has been trying to finalize a talent acquisition over the last several days, but like with Kurt Angle, everything is being kept secret.

Regal Admits To Steroid Use, Austin's Rate

Steve Austin is now charging $25,000 to do three-hour autograph sessions. In comparison, Hulk Hogan charges $75,000. Last year Austin was charging $30,000.

William Regal recently sat down with the Sunshine Coast Daily in Australia. He discussed several things about his professional wrestling career saying that his family in the United Kingdom is proud of him, but they don't watch it and that's why they can be proud of him. During the interview Regal admitted to using steroids in his twenties, but the defended the WWE Wellness policy. He did however; say that people in his line of work do get around it as well as athletes in other sports. Regal then said he didn't like it that everyone perceives wrestlers as monsters ever since the Benoit Family tragedy. He said that when he had drug problems in the late 90's, Benoit was one of the people who helped him get the treatment he needed.

ECW On Sci-Fi Results - September 04, 2007

They opened the show with a recap of C.M. Punk winning the right to face John Morrison for the ECW Title. Joey Styles said they wouldn't have to wait long for Punk to get his title shot.

Boogeyman came out to start the show. Matt Striker then followed out ready to wrestle. Striker said he knows he will be victorious because he is all-knowing, while his man is all-powerful. Big Daddy V then came out and Boogeyman salivated at the sight of the rack of spare ribs on V ripe for consumption.

1 -- MATT STRIKER (w/Big Daddy V) vs. THE BOOGEYMAN

V tried to distract Boogeyman early on, but Boogeyman quickly cleared Striker out of the ring to the floor. Boogeyman followed out and V had enough of this match, so he clotheslined Boogeyman hard to the floor. The match was thrown out, then V raised Striker's hand in symbolic victory.

WINNER: Boogeyman via DQ in 2:00. Just keeping the feud going. (n/a)

Backstage, Armando Estrada talked to C.M. Punk about his ECW Title shot tonight. Armando reminded Punk of his past failures in trying to capture the belt, but Punk reminded Armando that he has earned chance after chance after chance. Armando told him it's his last chance at the belt, so good luck. Punk said the last time he checked, luck is for losers.

Up next, Balls vs. Miz.

[Commercial Break]

Balls Mahoney came to the ring to a nice reception. They showed a clip of Balls appearing on the Superhero show to air on Thursday. Some weird folks there. Miz then brought out Extreme Expose to sit ringside for the match. We've found our new Guess Jeans models. Kelly Kelly shot a smile to Balls before the match started.

2 -- BALLS MAHONEY vs. THE MIZ (w/Extreme Expose)

Miz took control early on and he played to Expose, but Kelly only shook her hand in disdain while Leyla and Brooke egged her on. Balls started a comeback with a back elbow smash before nailing a flying forearm to the face. Balls wound up the Balls punches before executing a side belly-to-back suplex for a slow nearfall. Miz then nailed a knee lift into a neckbreaker for the pin and the win. Leyla and Brooke jumped up and down in celebration while Kelly remained seated.

After the match, Miz announced Balls as the loser. Kelly then slid into the ring to check on Balls while Miz, Leyla, and Brooke tried to figure things out. Miz then grabbed Kelly by the arm and pulled her away from Balls and out of the ring. Balls pulled himself to the middle rope and put a lovable, yet grumpy look on his face. Ah, how could Kelly turn down a hapless face like that?

WINNER: Miz in 3:00. Just keeping the program going, which is fine until they reach the payoff. (Well, hopefully there will be a payoff.) (*)

Backstage, John Morrison cut a promo about giving the fans a champion to believe in. He said Punk's words are nothing more than an illusion. Like Mr. Kennedy's? Morrison went back to a previous decade to call Punk a Blink 182 groupie who cried himself to sleep when he couldn't get backstage. Morrison essentially said he would end Punk tonight.

[Commercial Break]

They recapped last night's Raw with the McMahon family challenging Vince to humble himself and change. And we will find out the results of The Clue next Monday.

Elijah Burke came out for a match. Ah, the most underutilized man on the roster. Kevin Thorn then came out. Apparently they're doing a tag match. Stevie Richards came out as one-half of the babyface team, followed by Tommy Dreamer.

[Q3]

3 -- ELIJAH BURKE & KEVIN THORN vs. STEVIE RICHARDS & TOMMY DREAMER

Joey Styles talked about there being a turf war in the locker room between the Originals and New Breed. Dreamer and Richards started things off working on Thorn. Burke then took his licks before Thorn nailed Dreamer with a kick to the back from the apron to give Burke control. The heels took control only momentarily before the match broke down. Burke then caught Richards in the corner with the Elijah Express double-knee strike to the back. He covered Richards for the win.

WINNERS: Burke & Thorn in 4:00. Good win for Burke with the crowd into the action. It will be either Burke or V in that title picture after tonight. (*)

[Commercial Break]

They showed a video package on John Morrison's ECW Title reign. Props for promoting Creation in the promo. They transitioned from the Morrison recap package to a loud "C-M-Punk" chant before showing a video package on Punk's journey to challenging for the ECW Title. Nice head-to-head video package to set up tonight's title match.

C.M. Punk then came out for the title match.

John Morrison came out and they did some crazy music video slow-motion-fan-in-the-face entrance. Like the SNL perfume skit with the Olsen Twins, only far less entertaining.

4 -- JOHN MORRISON vs. C.M. PUNK -- ECW Title match

They exchanged early pin attempts looking for a quick decision. Punk landed a kick to the face, then landed a series of body blows. They battled to the outside and Morrison went for a sunset flip powerbomb off the apron, but Punk kicked him away and hit a springboard moonsault. They cut to a break after five minutes of solid action.

[Commercial Break]

[Q5 -- over-run]

They came back with Morrison in control. The fans rallied with a Punk chant while Morrison maintained a headlock. Punk escaped, but Morrison reapplied a headlock. They battled up top and Punk landed a superplex. Both men recovered on the mat and Punk came up with a roundhouse kick to the gut. Punk built momentum and nailed a flying dropkick for a nearfall. He caught his breath, then nailed a kick in the corner before hitting a bulldog for a nearfall. The fans exhaled as Punk regrouped. Punk then went for a double underhook, but Morrison drove him to the corner and nailed a leaping back kick. Morrison then set up Punk in the corner and hit a split-legged corkscrew moonsault for a close nearfall that popped the crowd. Morrison then went for his finisher, but Punk escaped. Morrison tried to hook the tights on a pin, but the ref caught him in the act. Punk then nearly surprised Morrison with a roll up, but good for a nearfall. Amazing energy in the building. Morrison then missed with a springboard back kick that would have ended the match. Punk quickly scooped up Morrison and put him on his shoulders. Morrison tried to fight out, but Punk dropped him with the Go 2 Sleep that Morrison sold like he was shot in the face. Punk then made the cover and the crowd exploded.

Afterward, Punk celebrated with the belt as the crowd continued to cheer. Nice camera work to capture the crowd reactions and Punk's near-tears celebration. They replayed the highpoints in the match before Punk went to the corner to hoist the belt in the air.

WINNER: Punk in 17:00 to capture the ECW Title.

Swick Off UFN 11, Possible Replacement Revealed

Although the card for Oct. 20’s UFC 77 “Hostile Territory” will likely prosper from the infusion of homebred talent the likes of Rich Franklin and Jorge Gurgel, at least one native Ohioan won’t be seen fighting in the US Bank Arena in Cincinnati. Welterweight Dustin Hazelett (13-4) has been called to duty much earlier to face Canadian Jonathan Goulet (19-8).

The 21-year-old jiu-jitsu devotee has been offered a slot on Sept. 19’s UFC Fight Night at The Pearl inside the Palms Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nev, filling in for an incapacitated Mike Swick, who injured his ribs during training, according to his coach Bob Cook. Goulet’s manager Ken Pavia confirmed the match-up was in negotiations Sunday, and that his side was receptive to the offer.

The Latest On Mike Bucci's Release From WWE

Mike "Simon Dean" Bucci is looking to move on from professional wrestling following his recent termination from WWE after his name surfaced in the probe of Signature Pharmacy linking him to steroids. Bucci maintains that everything that he was taking was for a legitimate medical purpose as a retired professional wrestler. He has also told those close to him that he understands why the company let him go and the political situation that WWE is in.

There have been reports that have surfaced that if Bucci were called to testify before Congress that he would perhaps bury WWE due to the fact that he lost his job. From everything that we’ve heard, Bucci is not upset over the situation and is more relieved to get out of the wrestling business.

Several WWE Superstars Upset With Steve Austin

Steve Austin gave a speech to WWE talent at SummerSlam that rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. Austin's three main points were that the talent dressed like slobs in public and they need to dress and carry themselves like professionals. He went on to say that the company has no superstars and it's time for someone to step up. Austin told the story of how he came up with his own gimmick and became a top guy.

One wrestler noted that Austin was out of touch with what the current wrestlers are making (salary wise) and what the current conditions are. Some were also shocked that Austin has became a puppet for McMahon. Some guys feel that Austin was acting the way he was because he is dealing with the guilt of his movie flopping.

Report: Chris Benoit's Brain Was Severely Damaged

ABC News is confirming that tests conducted by Julian Bailes of the Sports Legacy Institute show that Chris Benoit’s brain was severely damaged at the time he murdered his wife and son before taking his own life. According to the tests his brain resembled that of an 85-year-old Alzheimer's patient. Bailes said that the damage was the result of lifetime chronic concussions and head trauma.

Chris Benoit was famous for his flying headbutt, which is a lot of stress on the brain each time the maneuver is pulled off. While nothing can justify his actions, this at least helps the coping process.

WWE Signs New Big Man

Showbiz Ireland is reporting that Dublin wrestler Sheamus O'Shaunessy has signed a 3 year developmental contract with WWE. We've actually reported on this a few times in the past few months. Sheamus told Showbiz Ireland: "The news is only breaking now that I've signed a 3 year deal with the WWE. It's actually been in the bag for a while but there's been rigorous medical checks and the whole US Working Visa process to go through - so until all of that got sorted out there was no point in making a big noise about it."
Sheamus, who is 6 foot 6 inches is set to begin training at Florida Championship Wrestling in Tampa on 9/17. Recently released WWE talent exec Mike "Simon Dean" Bucci was initially the one who brought Sheamus to WWE's developmental territory in Florida.

WWE Bringing Back 80's Legend, Lilian Garcia On SD

WWE has actually been thinking about bringing back Robert Gibson, member of the legendary Rock 'N Roll Express. Gibson, who is currently an assistant trainer in Ohio Valley Wrestling, would return as an active wrestler. He has been working in OVW since December of last year. If he is brought back in, he would be used how Dave Taylor is used, helping the younger stars get the basic wrestling moves down. Gibson who is 49 years old is said to be in good shape. Gibson was last seen in TNA in 2003 as a part of Vince Russo's stable.

-- According to her official website, Lillian Garcia will be doing ring announcing for SmackDown shows next week. The SmackDown brand will run three shows in Spain and Garcia has ties to Spain as she spent the early part of her life living in Madrid while her father was employed with the American Embassy.

UFC Conf. Call: Babalu Fired, PRIDE Belt Is Done

Dana White has confirmed some noteworthy items in the beginning of today's UFC 75 media conference call:

-Renato "Babalu" Sobral was released from his contract due to the incidents that happened during his UFC 74 bout against David Heath. Dana White again talked about how it would of been worse had Babalu had an arm, leg or ankle. Still, Dana feels the fans turned on him and said he is out of his contract and out of the company due to his actions.

-A caller asked Dana White if the PRIDE 205 lb. belt would be defended after this upcoming champion vs. champion fight at UFC 75. Dana said it wouldn't. He said this is a unification bout and the winner will be the undisputed champion. I guess the UFC belt will represent that and the PRIDE belt will become nothing more than another trophy to keep at your house.

-Dana was asked if Dan Henderson would get an immediate title shot against Middleweight champion Anderson Silva if he were to decide to drop down to 185 lbs. after his bout with Rampage. Dana said he'd have to see what the MW division looks like when/if that were to happen, but that Hendo would still be number one or two in that division immediately.

Jericho's WWE Return, WWE Stars Very Upset, More

who were incorrectly named are very upset but WWE won't let anyone in the company speak to the media right now because it has backfired on them too many times in the recent months.

- WWE has recently been in contact with Chris Jericho, still trying to feel him out for a return to the company. Jericho's agent, Barry Bloom, is smart enough to know that right now Jericho holds a nice amount of leverage due to everything that is going on. However, at this time there's no indications of a surprise return right away.

HBK's WWE Return, Fight Leads to WWE Release, More

- TJ Wilson, who isn't expected to join the new Hart Foundation when it is called up to the main WWE roster, is now using "The Stampede Kid" gimmick in Florida Championship Wrestling, WWE's developmental territory.

- Sylvan Grenier was released from WWE because of a backstage argument with a WWE road agent. After getting squashed by Kane on SmackDown and losing Maryse as his valet, Grenier realized what was happening and that led to an argument that got him fired. It's said that Sylvan really had no supporters in WWE besides Pat Patterson, who's not even on the road much these days.

- To update you on Shawn Michaels, even with the lack of depth in the WWE roster, he's not expected to return right now. WWE did contact Michaels, but word is either Shawn was not either not ready or not receptive to returning ahead of schedule.

Lesnar wants In!

A former NCAA heavyweight wrestling national champion and pro wrestling superstar, Brock Lesnar made his mixed martial arts debut in impressive fashion on June 2nd against Min Soo Kim. That fight was fulfillment of a one-fight deal with K-1.

Now, the 30-year-old Lesnar wants to compete in the UFC.

With his collegiate wrestling accomplishments and pro wrestling popularity, Brock Lesnar is one of the highest profile free agents in MMA. Sporting an MMA record of 1-0, what Lesnar lacks in MMA experience, he more than makes up for in potential pay-per-view buys.

Contacted by several promotions, Lesnar is tired of the run-a-round and is ready to ink a deal.

"We're playing the games, but I'm tired of playing games,” stated Lesnar. “It's time for somebody to make a move. I'm going to go down to the UFC and see what the hell is going on down there."

Asked if he has talked to UFC President Dana White about his interest in competing in the Octagon, Lesnar answered, "We've spoken. I cannot deny or confirm anything. I'm just telling you this, I'm going to be there Saturday night and I'm looking for a win. I don't care who it is. If I had to fight somebody, I'd like to fight Randy [Couture]. I'll fight [Gabriel] Gonzaga. We'll see what happens."

He added, "I hope Randy wins that fight. I hope Randy wins that fight and then I can fight him in December."

"I'm going to be attending the UFC this weekend, and I'm going to go down and watch and see in person, because I've watched these guys fight on TV. I'm going to go down there and see for myself and watch these heavyweights that I know I can beat," Lesnar told MMAWeekly.

"I'm looking to fight somebody with credentials. I'm not just talking Silver Medals in Judo. I want a belt. I've fought a lot of tomato cans. I've already had it. You know? I want a fillet Mignon. Let's do it, and do it right. I want to fight somebody, somebody that's got credentials because I've got them too. There isn't a wrestler, there isn't a heavyweight out there my size that has done the things I've done."

Questioned if the UFC is where he'd like to eventually compete, Lesnar responded, "The UFC, they're the big dogs on the street, obviously. You've got Randy Couture, who he's definitely going to be past his prime here. You've got Fedor [Emelianenko]. There's nobody out there that is unbeatable. Okay? All the media builds Fedor into this great monster. Well, every monster has his day.

“There isn't a guy like me walking around that can do the things that I do. These guys, they don't know. Let's put it this way, in college, or everywhere that I've gone, everybody has said that I'm one strong son-of-a-bitch, and that's what I am, and I'm able to back it up."

Lesnar has a wrestling resume that rivals or surpasses most everyone competing in MMA. We've seen accomplished collegiate wrestlers like Randy Couture, Matt Lindland, Josh Koscheck, and others succeed in MMA.

Does Lesnar believe he has the ability to have the same success?

"Absolutely, no doubt in my mine. I mean, you take Randy Couture for example, I mean he's the heavyweight champion of the UFC, but he's a small heavyweight. Let's face it, Tim Sylvia was not a legitimate heavyweight champion," responded Lesnar.

"I enjoyed watching Randy beat the sh*t out of Tim Sylvia. I enjoyed that. I mean take a look at this guy, Tim Sylvia, the guy’s feet; they're damn near webbed. He looks like the Swamp Thing. The guy is a vulture. He can't wrestle worth a crap. He's got a jab and a little right hand. There's no way. I'd double-leg his a** right through that cage so fast, and that would be the end of the fight. I'm tired. I'm tired of this. Brock Lesnar wants to fight somebody, somebody with credentials, and Tim Sylvia ain't the guy."

Rumor Killer On Fedor-UFC, Deal Not Even Close

I didn’t hear the show but I’ve read in several places that Tagg Radio reported today that the show heard from a reliable source in Fedor Emelianenko’s camp that he’s been offered a four fight deal worth $2 million per bout that would also allow him to fight in Russia. The reports I am reading suggests that Fedor is close to accepting.

If that story is in fact being reported I can tell you that a reliable source I spoke to from the UFC left me with a completely different impression of Thursday’s meeting. I did not ask the source specifically about Tagg Radio’s report and simply asked about how the meeting on Thursday went. The answer was not good and no indication was given that a deal was even close to being agreed to.

Wow $2 million for four fights? I hope he is worth it. I hope he doesn't turn out like Beckham all hype.

World Wrestling Entertainment and RAW brand tag-team Cryme Time has parted ways. There are no in-depth details at this point, only that there was an incident sometime this weekend involving Cryme Time and WWE Tag Team champions Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch.

Now this is some B.S.! Cryme Time was over and popular with the fans, why don't we grab

Breaking News: Top WWE Stars Suspended

- The WWE was rocked again today, after several of wrestling's top names emerged in the Albany district attorney's probe into a widespread Internet doping scandal.

The wrestling congomerate based in Stamford announced that it will suspend 10 of its biggest stars for violation of its wellness policy.

Top wrestlers Randy Orton, Charles Haas, Jr., Adam "Edge" Copeland, Robert "Booker T" Huffman, Shane Helms, Mike Bucci, Anthony Carelli, John "Johnny Nitro" Hennigan, Darren "William Regal" Matthews, Ken "Mr. Kennedy" Anderson and Chavo Guerrero were all identified as clients of Signature Pharmacy in Orlando, the site raided by Albany County and Florida law enforcement agencies in February for distributing steroids and other prescription drugs to clients who had not been examined by doctors. The investigation is part of a probe into illegal Internet drug distribution by Albany D.A. David Soares.

Over a year ago here on The FightWorks Podcast, we spoke with Breno Sivak, who is a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu from Gracie Humaita in Rio de Janeiro. Sivak has been a long time friend of Rickson Gracie, and in our conversation claimed that Rickson was preparing to fight another mixed martial arts fight in December 2006.

Sivak’s claim was dismissed as rumor by some, but this weekend at the Brazilian jiu-jitsu Mundials in Los Angeles, I spoke with Rickson Gracie personally and asked if there was any truth to Sivak’s statement. Rickson confirmed that he does indeed still intend to fight and is currently in negotiations with multiple MMA promotions to fight on December 31, 2007.

TNA Superstars Told Impact Is Moving To Two Hours

Several TNA superstars were notified at this past Monday’s Impact tapings in Orlando, Florida that TNA Impact would be moving into a two hour timeslot starting in October. While nothing has been confirmed, it appears that negotiations are very close to being completed or already completely.

It is assumed that TNA will remain on Spike TV, although company officials had several meetings with FOX executives as well.

WWE Title Plans Changed, Kane, WWE Off-Season, More

- The original plan for SummerSlam was to have Randy Orton and Batista to win the WWE Title and the World Heavyweight title. The final decision to keep the belt on Cena was made on Friday. Michael Hayes was in charge of suggesting finishes for the Batista/Khali match and Vince didn't like any of them, feeling like they all came off flat. As far as Orton, Vince felt that Randy had gotten so hot that it would make for a perfect big win for Cena. It looks like Orton will now get the rematch and possibly the title at Unforgiven.

- Kane had his ribs taped up at SummerSlam due to a shot from Finlay a few weeks back.

- Vince McMahon was approached with the idea of doing an off season for the WWE a few times in the past couple months but he blew it off every time.

WWE Wants Top Star, JBL/Jim Ross, MVP Update, More

- WWE's Johnny Ace wanted a meeting with Japanese superstar Takeshi Morishima when Morishima was in New York last weekend. Ace is said to be very high on him. The NOAH promotion put a stop to the meeting, citing loyalty to Ring of Honor which Morishima works for. WWE actually approached Morishima a year or so ago when he was training at Harley Race's school. WWE had interest in putting him on the ECW roster since talks with Masato Tanaka and Tajiri fell through. NOAH stopped it from happening then too.

- When Tazz worked alongside Jim Ross on RAW a few weeks back, the original plan was to have JBL work with Ross. However, JBL was out of the country with his wife so Tazz got the chance.

- MVP is officially cleared to wrestle. It appears he wasn't pulled from SummerSlam for health reasons. WWE wanted to keep forward with the Matt Hardy competition angle, so they didn't do the PPV match yet.

Two weeks before serious accident, wrestler's son cited for speeding

Nick Bollea Had Speeding Tix Before Crash

AUGUST 27--Wrestler Hulk Hogan's teenage son, who last night crashed his car while apparently racing another vehicle on a Florida street, was cited earlier this month for speeding in a construction zone while workers were present. Nick Bollea, 17, was nabbed August 10 by Pinellas Park police after his 1998 Toyota was recorded going 82 mph is a 45 mph zone. He was also cited for failing to wear a seatbelt. The infractions occurred at about 10:30 AM on a stretch of U.S. Highway 19, the heavily trafficked corridor for north-south travel in Pinellas County. According to the traffic citations, copies of which you'll find below, Bollea is scheduled to appear in a St. Petersburg court on September 10 to answer the speeding charge. According to police, Bollea last night lost control of his Toyota Supra and crashed the vehicle on a Clearwater street. While Bollea was treated at a hospital for his injuries and released, his passenger, 22-year-old John Graziano, remains hospitalized in critical condition. Bollea stars with his father (real name: Terry Bollea) and other family members in "Hogan Knows Best," a VH1 reality show. The Bollea family recently moved to Pinellas County from Miami Beach.

MEDICAL EMERGENCY FORCES DRAGON OUT OF NWA WORLD TITLE PICTURE

Charlotte, NC (August 27, 2007) – Due to an injury sustained over the weekend, and emergency eye surgery this morning, “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson has been eliminated from the NWA World Championship Tournament Finals set to take place this Saturday September 1 in Puerto Rico. The decision to remove Danielson was made by the NWA Board of Directors after Executive Director Robert K. Trobich conducted several conversations with Danielson’s physicians.

When reached for comments Trobich said “I have been on the phone all day with Bryan Danielson and his doctors. Bryan has been literally begging to be permitted to wrestle in the NWA title tournament final this Saturday in Puerto Rico against Brent Albright. Like all wrestling fans, I was eagerly anticipating the first-ever match-up between two world-class warriors like Danielson and Albright, with the biggest prize in wrestling hanging in the balance. However, as gutsy a fighter as Bryan is, there is simply no way he can be medically cleared to fight in this match after such serious surgery. Brent Albright deserves his shot at the belt, now, however. In that regard, after hours of discussions with the NWA board, I have decided that the title match will go on as scheduled, and Adam Pearce, who just met Danielson in a hotly-contested semifinal match ten days ago, will step into the final in Danielson's place.”

Barnett Calls Out Couture, Calls Him 'Paper Champ'

Let's get straight to it and say that Randy did a phenomenal job at UFC 74 in defending his title. As a fan and a fellow Washingtonian I was happy to see him win. But as for the title itself -- it still sits in my house. No one in UFC ever beat me for it, and as far as I am concerned, no one in the UFC can be the heavyweight champion until they take that belt off of me in the cage.

At the post fight press conference, Dana White said "there isn't anyone in the world that can beat this guy" in reference to Randy. All this because Randy beat a guy that had less than ten fights and only one noteworthy win? That's not even a world championship level fight, let alone reason to proclaim the winner as "unbeatable". This comment was made even more ridiculous by the fact that I was standing right there, living proof that Randy Couture is definitely beatable.

"Unbeatable", Dana says. If he actually believes that, I'm more than willing to step into the cage and prove him wrong. It wouldn't even have to be for the belt. I already got the real belt. They can keep their pile of brass they purport as the UFC Heavyweight Title and put it on their next paper champ.

The following are quotes from Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) Executive Director Keith Kizer from an article on TheFightNetwork.com:

“He appeared to ignore the referee’s verbal and physical commands to break the chokehold and continued to have the chokehold for an inappropriate amount of time thereafter,” Kizer said.

Kizer confronted Sobral (28-7), a former contender for the UFC light heavyweight championship, regarding his actions following the event.

“When we talked to him after the fight, he said, ‘Look, you know, we’re taught, even if you feel a guy tap, you don’t let go when the guy taps because he might be doing a Matt Lindland on you.’ Those are his words,” Kizer said. “He said, ‘Even though I felt Heath tap, I continued to hold the choke until the referee told me to stop, and then I stopped.’ I said, ‘Well, that’s not what I saw.’”

Kizer, who obtained footage of Sobral’s post-fight interview, said the matter would be addressed when the NSAC convenes in Las Vegas at 9:30 AM PST Friday. At that point, the commission could decide to withhold Sobral's bonus and pursue additional action.

Former UFC welterweight champion B.J. Penn drew criticism in June for failing to immediately release his rear-naked choke to a Jens Pulver tapout at "The Ultimate Fighter 5" Finale. However, Pulver never lost consciousness, and the two rivals embraced inside the Octagon seconds later.

“Other than the fact that they were both submission holds, I don’t see a real similarity between those two fights,” Kizer said. “This was much more egregious than that. Stone Cold Steve Austin's ex-wife Debra Marshall (also a former manager and WWE diva) recently appeared on Inside Edition. Marshall said that the use of alcohol, pills, and steroids was out of control in wrestling. She said that when she was married to Austin he made up to $12 million his best year with WWE and hit her on three different occasions (Austin pleaded no contest to the 2002 incident and divorced her shortly after).

Debra went on to say that Vince McMahon rules this little world and if someone complains, he fires them. WWE issued a response to the show saying that they are doing everything they can to help the current performers lead a healthier lifestyles than pro wrestlers of previous generations and they have a zero tolerance drug testing program in place.

Dana White "Pretty Much Guarantees" Lesnar In UFC

Next big thing to enter UFC?

Former WWE champion Brock Lesnar, known to wrestling fans as "The Next Big Thing," followed through on his promise to attend UFC 74. Lesnar said that he wanted to see Couture up close and in person, but that was not the only reason Lesnar was in attendance.

Lesnar met with White, who was very confident after his meeting with Lesnar.

"I am pretty much going to guarantee you right here that UFC will get him," said White. "Lesnar should have started with us, but we'll be happy to have him."

Lesnar made his mixed martial arts debut at a show co-promoted by EliteXC and K-1, defeating Min Soo Kim in Los Angeles on June 2.

When might the former collegiate All-American start with the UFC?

"We are all booked up through 2007, but we would like to have him start after the new year," White said.

Couture Suffers Broken Arm During UFC 74 Fight

Following yet another feather-in-his-cap performance Saturday at UFC 74 in Las Vegas, real life superhero Randy Couture (16-8), was informed Sunday by doctors that he’d broken his arm during his third round TKO stoppage of Gabriel Gonzaga (8-2).

Couture, 44, sustained the injury Saturday blocking a Gonzaga right high kick with his left forearm, cleanly separating the ulna bone with a “nightstick fracture,” a break common in law enforcement circles. The injury placed the UFC heavyweight champion’s arm in a splint for six weeks. The appendage will not need a cast.

“It’s not displaced, so the doctors think it will reattach in about a week and a half,” said Couture.

Heat On Top Star, Batista/Steroids, Release Update

-- Kip James is under some major heat with TNA management after complaining loudly backstage about how TNA was wasting money on bringing in Pacman Jones and not pushing any of the TNA talent. James has been kept off the iMPACT tapings for two weeks.

-- Former TNA star Jerry Lynn did an interview last Monday and said he asked for his release from TNA because he wasn't used at the iMPACT tapings in about a month. If you don't get booked to appear on TV, then you don't get paid. Lynn says he asked for his release and TNA complied with the request.

-- "There is a serious testing program in place," said Batista in an interview in Australia this past week. "I love what I do and hate it when people say wrestlers are drugged up on steroids. I won't accept it in the locker room and I'm in total compliance."

HHH/Mysterio Update, D'lo Update, Moolah, More

- WWE kept Rey Mysterio and Triple H off TV before SummerSlam because they felt that their returns were a bigger drawn than any match they would be in. WWE believed if they shot angles with the two, it would draw less PPV buys because fans would have already seen them for free.

- Fabulous Moolah missed last Tuesday's SmackDown taping because her brother passed away that Monday. Mae and Moolah both were booked for a skit but only Mae ended up doing it.

- Many people within WWE are expecting D'lo Brown to be resigned soon due to his performances in the dark matches he has worked.

(CNN) -- A high-speed car accident in Florida has left the teenage
son of wrestling star Hulk Hogan seriously injured and a companion in
critical condition late Sunday, police said.

Nick Bollea, 17, was the driver of a Toyota Supra that went out of
control while driving at a "high rate of speed" about 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, said Wayne Shelor, a spokesman for the Clearwater police in
Clearwater, Florida.

The car "inexplicably left the roadway," jumped across a raised
median and slammed into a palm tree just east of downtown, Shelor
said.

"It destroyed the car," he said.

Firefighters had to extract Bollea and his passenger, whose identity
was not immediately released, from the wreckage. Both were flown to a
hospital in nearby St. Petersburg, Florida, Shelor said.

"They're both down there. Nick's father is down there," he said.

Hogan, one of the top professional wrestlers of the 1980s and 1990s,
is now featured in the VH1 reality show "Hogan Knows Best." His son,
wife Linda and daughter Brooke regularly appear on the show.

One episode documented the son's interest in a type of high-speed car
racing known as "drifting."

Shelor said there was no evidence of drag racing or "drifting" in
Sunday's wreck.

Police said Bollea -- known to viewers as "Nick Hogan" -- was not as
seriously hurt as his passenger, who was listed as critical.

Shelor said the wreck forced police to shut down mile-long Court
Street, the main east-west road through central Clearwater, as they
investigated the accident.

"I will have this road closed for a minimum of four hours," he
said. "It was a spectacular wreck."

Update On Former WWE Champion Heading To UFC

Former WWE champion Brock Lesnar has not yet signed with UFC; however Dana White is expecting a deal with him soon and hasn't indicated any roadblocks. Lesnar was at UFC 74 "Respect" Saturday night but wasn’t shown on television because he is not under contract.

Lesnar did have a brief exchange with Randy Couture after the match in the aisle congratulating him.

- Visitors backstage at last night’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view included, Jimmy Snuka, Robert Gibson (who is now working as a trainer for WWE), former WCW talent Teddy Reade (a/k/a Swole in Master P’s No Limit Soldiers), former ROH Champion Xavier, and Dick Kroll.

- WWE played a long promotional video to the live crowd last night at SummerSlam, hyping the company’s mainstream crossover appeal, popularity, and revenue streams. The piece is usually played at corporate events.

- As we reported earlier, there was a dark match before SummerSlam featuring Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch defeating Paul London & Brian Kendrick. According to several fan reports, the match was very well done.

TNA iMPACT Results - August 23, 2007

- During the broadcast, it was announced that next Thursday night on "iMPACT!" it will be Sting vs. Christian Cage vs. AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe in a four-way match with the winner becoming Kurt Angle's partner at the No Surrender Pay-Per-View!

- In the “iMPACT!” main event, Kurt Angle was able to beat The Steiner Brothers with the help of Team 3D, who interfered in the bout on behalf of the Olympic Gold Medalist. Earlier in the broadcast, Team 3D apologized to The Steiners and admitted they were the better team, but it was all just mind games from Brother Ray and Brother Devon.

- Eric Young got his autograph from Adam “Pacman” Jones, but it wasn’t what he was hoping for. After Eric lost to Ron “The Truth” Killings, Pacman Jones entered the ring and spraypainted “Pac” on EY’s back.

- Also on the broadcast, manager James Mitchell congratulated Abyss on earning the TNA World Heavyweight Title shot at “No Surrender” against Kurt Angle, but the maniacal Mitchell also warned that his newest monster – Judas Messias – is on his way to TNA.

- After Samoa Joe cost Christian Cage a shot at the TNA World Heavyweight Title last week, Cage sent AJ Styles and Tomko to “iMPACT!” to annihilate Joe. The fight started in the back and ended up in the ring, where Cage joined in on the brawl and brutally punished The Samoan Submission Machine.

- “Cowboy” James Storm is on a mission to locate his nemesis “The War Machine” Rhino, who Storm claims has “fallen off the wagon”.

- After the mixed-tag team match with Kazarian and Gail Kim vs. Robert Roode and Ms. Brooks, Roode blamed Ms. Brooks for the loss and began to berate her. Kazarian came to Ms. Brooks’ aid and told Roode he doesn’t know how to treat a woman.
